CAF Women’s Champions League | CECAFA: Simba Queens join CBE in semi-finals
The Simba Queens have remained undefeated in their two matches at the qualifier for the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League.
Following a resounding 3-0 victory over Uganda's Kawempe Muslim Ladies on Wednesday, the Tanzanian side secured their spot in the semi-finals of the CECAFA tournament.
The match saw a slow start, with the breakthrough coming only in the second half.
In the 61st minute, Aquino Corazon, expertly set up by Shikangwa, found the back of the net, opening the scoring for the Simba Queens.
Jentrix Shikangwa, who provided the assist, turned goalscorer just six minutes later, making it 2-0 in the 67th minute.
Elizabeth Wambui then sealed the victory with a third goal for the Simba Queens.
In the day's other match, PVP Buyenzi and the Armed Forces of Djibouti (FAD) played out a 0-0 draw, with each team earning their first point of the competition.
