What are your thoughts on Edo Queens’ journey to qualifying for the CAF Women’s Champions League?

Emem Peace Essien: First of all, I would like to thank God. Though it has not been easy, it was through our team plan and spirit that we made it. Following the coach's instructions was crucial, and that is why we were able to succeed.

Now that you have secured qualification for the tournament, what are your ambitions for the Champions League?

My ambition in the tournament is to fight hard because we are always ready to face any challenge that comes our way. That's our slogan, and we are determined to win in all our games.

What lessons from the WAFU B tournament will you carry into the CAF Women’s Champions League?

I will carry the discipline, team play, and team spirit that we developed during the WAFU B tournament.

Nigeria is known as a giant in African women's football, and there are high expectations for your performance. Does this pressure affect you and your teammates?

Not really. We maintain the mindset to focus on our game and do what we know how to do best, which is to perform and bring out our best.

What are your personal expectations for yourself in the Champions League?

I want to be the highest scorer and the best player. I also aim to contribute to the team play and spirit, performing even better than I did in the WAFU B competition.

How will participating in the Champions League help your career?

It will elevate my career and help me grow as a player. Participating in this tournament will open more opportunities for me and improve my game overall.

What is your perspective on the current standard of women's football in Africa?

I would rate the standard as high. The quality of play is improving, and teams are really trying to raise their level.

Lastly, what is your message to the passionate Edo Queens fans and Nigerian football supporters?

To our fans, I want to say thank you for your support. We are aware of your expectations for good results, and we will do our best to meet those expectations.
